Helen Castor's She-Wolf book (and BBC documentary) includes a section on Margaret of Anjou who was a primary player during this time period as well. The Women of the War of the Roses also covers Elizabeth of York, but it expands to her mother (Elizabeth Woodville) and mother-in-law (Margaret Beaufort) who were very powerful women as well.įor a different perspective try Helen Castor's Blood and Roses which follows a merchant family thru this time period using letters, store records, and legal transcripts of the time. Alison Weir's Elizabeth of York is a great companion book as it follows his wife, the daughter of Edward IV and a possible love interest of Richard III. Thomas Penn's Winter King is a great wrap up to the events, it follows the life of Henry Tudor (Henry VII) including the events at Bosworth Field. I'm a big fan of Alison Weir's War of the Roses, in fact all of her books are fantastic. Instructions and advice on how to best do an AMA. Want to do an AMA or know someone who does?
